How to prevent gate leakage?

1. Maintenance of sealing components

Optimize water stop device:

Choose corrosion-resistant, rubber or polyurethane water stop to ensure that the sealing surface fits tightly with the gate groove to avoid leakage due to material aging.

Regularly check whether the water stop is worn or broken, and replace or adjust the pressure plate bolts in time to reduce the water stop gap.

‌Enhance sealing performance:

Fill the gap between the door frame and the foundation with cement mortar or epoxy resin to prevent leakage caused by installation deviation.

Apply anti-rust paint to the surface of the metal gate (once every six months), focusing on protecting areas with high corrosion incidence.

2. Structural and installation optimization

‌

Correct the gate groove and track:

Check the flatness of the gate groove track, correct the deformed parts, and ensure that the water stop is evenly stressed when the gate is opened and closed.

Strictly calibrate the position when embedding bolts or steel plates to avoid separation of the door frame and the wall due to loose installation.

‌Anti-blocking and foreign body cleaning‌:

Regularly clean the mud, stones and other debris in the gate groove to keep the gate moving path unobstructed and reduce the wear of the sealing surface‌.

Installing sand discharge devices in rivers with a lot of silt to prevent siltation and squeezing the gate structure‌.

3. Lubrication and transmission protection

‌Regularly lubricate key components:

Add butter or hydraulic oil to the transmission parts such as the walking wheels, slide rails, gears, etc. to reduce the seal failure caused by friction resistance‌.

Check the cleanliness of the lubricating oil and replace the deteriorated oil in time to avoid impurities accelerating the wear of parts‌.

‌Control the opening and closing operation:

Avoid over-limit operation during opening and closing to prevent the tearing of the water stop belt or deformation of the door leaf‌.

The electric/hydraulic hoist needs to calibrate the travel limit device regularly to ensure that the gate is closed in place‌.

4. Environmental and anti-corrosion management

‌Anti-freezing and drainage measures‌:

In winter, use electric heating or steam to melt the ice around the gate to prevent deformation and leakage caused by ice squeezing‌.

Keep the drainage system around the gate unobstructed to prevent water from penetrating and corroding the foundation.

Treatment method:

Sandblasting and rust removal are performed during the dry season every year, and epoxy resin or high-performance anti-rust paint is applied, with a focus on protecting welds and joints.

Areas with severe corrosion can be partially replaced with stainless steel or composite material parts.
