Product Introduction

Product Description

The DG Series Monorail Submerged Scraper is designed for sludge removal in rectangular clarifiers, tube settlers, and DAF tanks within large water and wastewater treatment plants. It features a simple structure, reliable transmission, comprehensive electrical protection, easy installation, and is highly suitable for automated operations.

Utilizing a continuous chain reciprocating drive, it tows a scraper trolley back and forth to efficiently move bottom sludge from the outlet zone to the inlet collection hopper. This ensures high-concentration sludge discharge and excellent overall removal efficiency.

Product Features

Modular & Flexible Design

Simple structure consisting of a drive unit, scraper carriage, rails, and controls. Highly customizable: deploy single or multiple carriages across single or dual tanks to fit specific process needs.

01

Robust Construction

The rolling carriage ensures stable operation even under heavy or unbalanced loads (200kg base). A powerful chain drive pulls scrapers up to 9m wide and 400–500mm high, maximizing sludge removal.

02

High Reliability & Easy Maintenance

Designed for an ultra-low failure rate. Carriages can be easily hoisted out for servicing. Equipped with overload alarms and status indicators for long lifespan and low maintenance costs.

03

High-Concentration Discharge

Collects high-concentration sludge into the hopper, allowing direct routing to dewatering equipment. This eliminates the need for secondary thickening, saving process costs and facility footprint.

Working Principle

The Monorail Submerged Sludge Scraper primarily consists of four main components: the Drive Unit, the Scraper Carriage Assembly, the Rail System, and the Electrical Control Unit.

Drive Unit

The drive unit features a motor, a double-stage cycloidal reducer, and an overload-shear sprocket assembly that drives the continuous chain. Reciprocating motion is achieved by reversing the motor, with all parts fully enclosed.

The chain transmission offers excellent flexibility, high traction, and precise ratios without needing excessive tension.

The overload-shear sprocket provides mechanical protection, while chain tension is easily adjusted via the reducer's base plate and four studs.

Scraper Carriage Assembly

This assembly includes the frame, wheels, scraper blades, and a flipping device. Connection lugs link the carriage to the chain, forming a closed loop. Towed by the drive unit, the carriage travels along rails for forward (scraping), backward (reset), and flipping actions.

In long clarifiers, bumper-rod linkages synchronize multiple carriages.

The paired scraper blades are mounted on the flipping device's shaft. Rubber strips on the bottom and wall edges ensure gentle soft contact with the tank.

Blades stay vertical during scraping and flip 90° horizontally for the return trip.

Rail System

Consisting of head, tail, and intermediate rails (for long tanks), the rail system is installed along the tank's centerline. It provides a flat, reliable track, with chain-reversing devices equipped at both ends.

Electrical Control Unit

Supporting Local and Remote modes, it controls scraping and return cycles, ensuring accurate reversing upon receiving signals. Each cycle completes with an adjustable standby delay (1–999 min).

Signal bumpers at both ends trigger the linkage system, activating limit and proximity switches to convert mechanical limits into electrical reversing signals.

This dual switch configuration ensures highly reliable reversing. Electrical Protection: Motor overload and shear-pin failure alarms. Remote Control: Start/stop, alarms, and blade status indication.
