Workflow
Sewage inflow
Sewage enters the feed end (one end of the drum) of the drum screen through pipes or channels, and flows along the axial direction of the drum under the action of gravity or pumping.
Solid-liquid separation
Gate gap interception: Sewage flows out through the grating gaps (the width of the grating gap is usually 1-10mm) on the surface of the grating cylinder, while suspended matter (such as fibers, plastics, hair, etc.) is retained on the inner surface of the grating cylinder because its size is larger than the grating gaps.
Baffle effect: The grating cylinder is usually inclined at an angle of 35°-55° to the direction of the water flow. When the sewage flows, the angle changes and the flow is baffled, which enhances the impurity interception efficiency. 47.
Rotation and slag discharge of the grating cylinder
Low-speed rotation: The grating cylinder rotates at a low speed (such as 4-6r/min) under the drive device, and the retained slag is lifted to the top as the grating cylinder rotates.
Cleaning and slag discharge: At the top of the screen cylinder, the high-pressure flushing nozzle (pressure can reach 0.3-0.5MPa) and the nylon brush work together to strip the screen slag from the screen gap, and discharge the equipment through a screw conveyor or scraper to enter the subsequent collection or pressing device76.
Self-cleaning cycle
The cleaned screen cylinder continues to rotate to the bottom and re-enters the sewage filtration area to form a continuous working cycle.

Screen cylinder design
Stepped bars: The bars are arranged in steps to form uniform screen gaps to prevent blockage and increase the filtration area4.
Material selection: The screen cylinder and frame are made of SUS304/316L stainless steel, which is pickled and passivated, corrosion-resistant and has a long service life67.
Drive system
The motor drives the screen cylinder to rotate through a reducer, the power is usually ≤1.1kW, and supports continuous or intermittent operation mode6.
Cleaning device
High-pressure washing: cleans adherent impurities (such as grease and hair).
Nylon brush auxiliary: physical brushing further cleans the grating gap to prevent clogging
